Effective 17 October 2026
This policy explains what information the WAKE game ("the app") handles and why. WAKE is published by Halfsky Publishing ("we", "us"). The app is available on Android, iOS and Windows (Microsoft Store), and as a free version in the web browser.
The app remembers your table setup: the game mode, the board size, who moves first and which seats the computer plays. On Windows it also notes whether the full game is unlocked. This data never leaves your device and is not sent to us. Uninstalling the app, or clearing the site's data in the browser version, deletes it.
WAKE shows two kinds of ads in its Android and iOS apps: an optional rewarded ad, which you choose to watch in exchange for a hint that suggests a move, and a short ad between games after every few finished games. There are no banner ads. Ads are provided by Google AdMob, a service of Google. When the app requests or shows an ad, Google may collect and process:
Google uses this to deliver and measure ads, limit how often you see the same ad, and prevent fraud, and, where you have consented, to personalise ads. Google acts under its own privacy policy: Google Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
The browser version of WAKE shows no ads and contacts no ad services. The Windows version contains no ads and no advertising SDK.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, the app shows Google's consent message the first time ads may be requested. You can consent, refuse, or manage your choices per purpose. If you refuse, any ads shown are non-personalised. You can change your choice at any time with the "privacy choices" link at the bottom of the game screen.
On iOS, the advertising identifier is only used if you allow tracking when the system asks. You can also reset or delete your advertising identifier in your device settings at any time.
In the Android and iOS apps, Remove ads is a one-time purchase through Google Play or the App Store, which handle the payment. The game only keeps an on-device note that ads are removed; we receive no payment details. After the purchase the game requests no ads, so Google AdMob no longer receives data from it on your device.
On Windows, the game is free to try and the full game is a one-time purchase through the Microsoft Store, which handles the payment and the license under Microsoft's own privacy statement. The game asks the Store whether the full game is unlocked and keeps an on-device note of the answer; we receive no payment details.
WAKE is a general-audience game and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data through the app, contact us and we will help remove it.
Depending on where you live (for example under the EU/UK GDPR), you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data, to object to or restrict processing, and to withdraw consent. Because we do not hold personal data about you, requests about advertising data are best directed to Google, and you can withdraw ad consent in the app as described above. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
Data on your device is kept until you uninstall the app or reset your data. Google retains advertising data according to its own policies.
If we change this policy we will update this page and the effective date above.
