About

Flip Drop! is an endless rolling-block puzzle. Tip a tall block end over end across floating islands and stand it upright on the exit. Every tile you leave cracks and falls a few flips later, so there is no going back.

Routes grow longer and the slack shrinks as your score climbs, the same for every player, while the sky turns from day to sunset to night.

  • Swipe to roll. Each roll flips the block onto its side or back onto its end. It only finishes on the exit, standing up.
  • The trail crumbles. Tiles you leave behind you fall away. Plan the route, then commit.
  • New tiles as you climb. Glass, anchor stone, ice, spring pads, and switches that open and close bridges.
  • Gems and multipliers. Gems sit off the shortest route for bonus points, and clean clears raise your multiplier, up to ×3.
  • A flip budget for every island. Go past it and the island sinks one ring per flip, from the edges in.
  • Fair by design. Every island is checked to be clearable before you see it.
  • Day to night. The sky turns from day to sunset to night as your score climbs.
  • Plays offline. No account, no sign-in.

Screenshots

  • The tutorial island in daylight: a straight path of green tiles leads from the block to a glowing exit, with a Skip button.
  • A daytime island at 550 points with a multiplier of 2.25, cracked tiles behind the block and a Hint button.
  • A daytime island at 1,380 points with the multiplier at times three and a trail of cracked tiles.
  • A sunset sky at 2,640 points, with glass tiles and dark anchor stone on the island.
  • A night sky at 5,340 points, with ice tiles, switches and bridges.

On tablets and computers

  • Flip Drop! on an iPad: the block standing upright on a floating island of grass tiles under a sunny sky, the glowing exit at the far end.
  • An island at sunset: cracked tiles and a path of grass tiles up to the glowing exit.
  • A night island among the stars: a winding path of icy blue tiles with the block on its way to the exit.

Tips & tricks

How to play

  • The block is two cubes tall. Swipe to roll it. A roll flips it onto its side, or back up onto its end, and straight rolls stand it upright on every third cell, so count in threes.
  • The exit only counts when the block stands upright on it. The exit never cracks.
  • The trail crumbles. A tile cracks when you leave it and falls a few flips later. Do not plan to come back the same way.
  • The flip budget. Each island has a number of flips to spare. Beyond it, the island sinks one ring per flip, from the edges in.
  • Gems are placed off the shortest route. Clean clears raise your multiplier, up to ×3.

The tiles, and when they show up

  • Glass holds a lying block but breaks under one standing upright.
  • Anchor stone (from 1,200 points) never crumbles, so a route can loop back over it.
  • From 2,500 points, tiles crumble faster, and the sky turns to sunset.
  • Ice (from 3,000) slides the block until it reaches solid ground.
  • Spring pads (from 3,800) vault an upright block over a gap.
  • Switches (from 5,000) open and close bridges. That is also when the sky turns to night.

Tips

  • Look at the whole island before your first swipe. Find the exit, then work backward.
  • The shortest route is not always the best one: gems sit off it.
  • Use anchor stone as your safe ground when a route has to double back.
  • On ice, decide where you will stop before you push off.
  • A Hint shows the next few flips when you are stuck. It is optional, and on Android and iPhone/iPad it comes from a rewarded ad.

Frequently asked questions

Is Flip Drop! free?

Android and iPhone/iPad: free, with optional rewarded ads and a short ad between runs. A one-time “Remove ads” purchase removes every ad, and every bonus becomes a free tap.

Windows: free to try, with no ads at all. A one-time purchase unlocks the full game.

Which ads are there, and when?

There are no banners. Rewarded ads are your choice: watch one for a Rewind after a fall (once per run), a Hint, a Boost of double points, or a Steady island. A short ad plays between runs after every third finished run. It never plays at launch, never in the middle of a run, and never in your first three runs ever. A watched rewarded ad counts as the ad for that cycle.

Do ads or purchases change the difficulty?

No. Island generation, the solver and the pressure never read ad, consent, device or spending state. Difficulty rises with your score, and it is the same for every player. Every island is checked to be clearable before you see it, and a Rewind or a Hint never changes the island.

Why did my island sink?

Every island has a flip budget. If you use more flips than that, the island sinks one ring per flip, from the edges in. Plan a route that fits in the budget.

Does the game collect my data?

There are no accounts and we run no analytics. Your progress stays on your device. On Android and iPhone/iPad the ads come from Google AdMob, which may process device data, and where you live may decide whether you are asked for consent. After Remove ads the game requests no ads. The Windows version has no ads and no advertising software. Read the privacy policy for the full picture.

Does it work offline?

Yes. There is no account or sign-in, and the game plays offline.

Which devices does it run on?

Android: Android 8.0 or newer. iPhone and iPad: iOS or iPadOS 17 or newer. Windows: Windows 10 (version 1809) or newer.
